Adress, please!
Hi Liane, if you are looking for specific restaurants and their adress, you can find the official restaurant guide of the Basel region here. You can search for restaurants by district (Kleinbasel, St. Johann etc.), by category (Gourmet, Vegi, typical Basel etc.), by special search parameter (non-smoking, sunday brunch etc.) or you can enter the name of a restaurant in the search box. The restaurant guide contains not only restaurants in Basel-Stadt and Basel-Land, but also many restaurants in the cross-border regions of Alsace and Südbaden. Hope that helps, T.

Can anyone suggest a good place to have sunday brunch.

I'm not a vegetarian, but I have still been impressed by Tibbits, a new vegetarian restaurant just off of Steinenvorstadt where the cinemas are. They have a buffett which has always been fresh with a variety of different ethnic vegetarian choices. And reasonable: Fill up your plate with a lot of different dishes, I've yet to go over CHF 25 even when I'm hungry.

Other favorites are Jay's Indian, Bashwa Palace (Elizabethanstrasse) for more traditional Indian fare (good food, unusual ambiance), and Negishi (Gerbergasse)for Sushi.

For more European fare, take the elevator from the alley off Barfusserplatz into the Lonhof . Brasserie au Violon is also exceptional and fairly priced for what you get.

Movenpick has the best ice-cream... But I can recommend the Brauner Mutz at Barfusserplatz (Swiss and Alsatian specialities, reasonable prices).

Just a suggestion-cross the border and go to Lorrach. Once you will have ice-cream sundae there then you will forget Movenpick for sure.
